Happy first day of Summer. I can’t believe how fast this year is flying by! Since today is the first day of summer I wanted to share a list Brian and I made of a few of the things we wanted to do together this summer!
Do you have a summer bucket list? What Summer bucket list items would you add to this list?
I’m so excited my favorite season is finally here! Restaurants are coming out with Pumpkin flavored everything. I love to take long walks and hear the sound of dried leaves crunching underneath my favorite boots. There are so many great things to do in Fall so I’ve made a list of all the activities I want to do this lovely time of year.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my fall bucket list! What kinds of things are on your fall bucket list?
A red eye flight to Paris is really the way to fly internationally. We left Minneapolis at 5:10 in the evening and flew straight through the night. Brian was able to sleep quite awhile during the flight. I struggled to get much sleep, but I managed to get a tiny bit of beauty sleep.
We arrived in Paris the next morning. It was exhilarating to wake up in a new marvelous city. I have been dreaming of walking the streets of Paris since I was a little girl. I never expected to find a place that not only met my expectation but exceeded them. The street our apartment was very urban and trendy. It was the typical narrow Parisian street. We found our apartment through airbnb (click here to view the apartment) a friend of the apartment owner met us at the apartment and showed us around. It was a charming apartment with lots of natural light and bright paint on the wall. One thing that did surprise us was how small it was, this is typical of all parisian apartments. I was also surprised to learn there was little closet space, this is shocking considering Paris is the fashion capital of the world! After we got familiarized with our apartment we hit the streets in search of food. We found some of the most delicious croissants and a strong cup of coffee.
The first attraction we decided to see was the Centre Pompidou. The Centre Pompidou is a modern art museum. It is also known for its own modern architecture. The building looks as though its insides( like lifts and air conditioning vents) are displayed on the outside of the building. We wandered through the building for a few hours pondering the beautiful and odd works. We then made our way to the tops of the Pompidou to their observation decks. On top of the Pompidou we witnessed some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the city.
After our time at the Pompidou we headed to Monoprix, which is the Paris version of Target. There we did our grocery shopping for a few days. We bought everything we would need for a few simple meals like sandwiches, soups, vegetables and fruit. Brian and I loved experiencing grocery shoppings like a local. We then headed back to the apartment for dinner and to catch a few extra hours of sleep so we could wake up for an early morning adventure.
